After spending a pretty penny on our canvas, my husband and I wanted to be sure to get the proper pens to ensure that the signatures/notes from guests lasted a lifetime. I made sure to get on the live chat for recommendations and advice. Originally my husband and I had both thought of just using a silver sharpie to the guest book, but were quickly advised not to because they weren't considered archival and supposedly would fade. We were encouraged to order the pens through their website to ensure they were archival. After talking it over, we decided to order a couple of pens from MDB to ensure they were archival and were the best for our canvas. Sadly, on the day of our wedding, we got so many guests coming up to us and telling us that the pens weren't working. Lots of guests told us that they had to write over and over in the same area to get the ink to come out on the canvas. These pens that we spend a significantly higher price for than if we had just gone to the local walmart didn't work and left us unsatisfied with the results. Our canvas has some notes/signatures that are very light and which I honestly think will fade in time. The signatures that look decent were ones that the guests spent lots of time rewriting in order to actually have some ink come out onto the canvas. Sadly, some guests used the side of the canvas to scribble until ink came out, and one even wrote over the same spot so much that it completely removed the black color from the canvas, exposing the white underneath it (it is to the right of the dog and looks like a white letter C with some scribbles next to it). While I know that that damage was actually caused from the guests, it wouldn't have happened if the pens had just worked the way they were supposed to. I am extremely disappointed with the pens and would NOT recommend them to anyone.
